Masculine "Hello You"

I got the inspiration for this card from the "Manly Motifs" Mood Board in the online class "In the Mood" at CatherinePooler.com. I used Kraft Card Stock trimmed to 5 1/4in. by 4in. to stamp my birch tree forest on. I used the trees from the "Joy in the Woods" stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. I grouped the tree stamps on an acrylic block then stamped them repeatedly across the card front using Frost White pigment ink from Color Box, until it was filled with  trees. In some instances I masked off the small side branch if it was going to stamp over the top of a previously stamped image, this made them appear to be either in front of or behind the image next to it. I then re-stamped over each of the tree groupings, in this same manner, using Chestnut Roan Pigment ink also from Color Box and just slightly offset the trees each time I stamped them. (I saw Maureen Merrit do this technique in the "In The Mood" online class). This created the 'whitish bark' look that birch trees have. I die cut the stag from the same Kraft Card Stock using the "Maggie Holmes Open Book" die set. I lightly sponged over him with the Frost White pigment ink and sponged around his edges with the Chestnut Roan pigment ink to make him stand out. I then decided where I wanted to place him on the card front and used the "hello you" from the "Scripty  Sayings" stamp set from Lawn Fawn and stamped the section of the greeting that would lay across his neck with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Then I stamped the entire greeting in Versa Mark on the front of the card and heat embossed it with white embossing powder as well. I used dimensional adhesive to pop the stag up and placed him on the card front lining him up with the stamped greeting. I finished the card by adhering the completed panel to a darker brown A2 card base.
